For many reasons, Açai berries have been called a superfood.
In fact, these small berries contain a high amount of antioxidants (anthocyanins) and have a lot of benefits; It can boost the heart health, reduce inflammation, improve memory and cognitive function, protect from cancer, clear the skin, help with weight loss and much more...
You can find açai in many forms, fresh, dried, frozen, frozen purée, powder, or juice. Personally, I prefer to buy frozen purée, but you can try any other form. Just make sure it’s organic and pesticide free.
Beside Açai bowls, I like to prepare an açai smoothie for those busy days, when I am on the go. Check this recipe and let me know in the comments how it turned out.
